Messi play time

So how do you play? Clean, neat and nice? Well that is tough when you are small and I have always been encouraged to play freestyle and the mess actually is clean. I move from one toy to another and then another and another and mom has a lot of work to do when she picks them up after me. Now I am too small to pick my own toys but mom doesn't complain. Once in a while dad chips in too. I play with everything that comes around and I can get my hands on. If you don't find something then it must be in my toys.

Dad says it helps increase my ability to decipher what things are and helps me grow my creativity when I am indoors. While I broke his watches, phones and many other delicate items, mom encourages me to explore and play. So this is what it looks when I am just warming up. So here is to playing messy and growing up. Have a great day!

Visiting Mr. Giraffe

Did you know that my favorite animal is the Giraffe? I had several toys of Giraffe and I always wanted to see one for real but didn't get the opportunity. Now that we are in Hyderabad, Mom made sure we visited the Nehru Zoo and this was incredible experience for me as I enjoyed to the core. Though it was a hot day, we went in dad's car and could get to see several animals and most importantly the Giraffe :)

He was strolling joyfully in the park and was amazing to see. He is sooooooo tall and had a long with which he was eating leaves. Do you know how easy he can reach the tall trees and the leaves? We also saw lions, tigers, birds and many other interesting animals here. If you are in Hyderabad, you must visit this place.

Being Hyderabadi!

So you know that I am in Hyderabad to visit my maternal grandfather who is ill and is recovering. Trip to Hyderabad is always good as I have lots of things to do and play. I can stay with Granny and play with her and go to the park behind my house. We have two balconies where I can go and play. One of the balconies overlooks the street. I play there a lot and spend time looking at people, bikes, cars and children going to school and so on.

The best part is tasting so many different kids of Hyderabadi biryani that mom orders when I don't eat the regular stuff. I play till late night and sleep off with mom and get up early to play again. My sleeping pattern is changed by I love being here. Sometimes I miss dad. I wake up in the night and search for him and get teary and cry. Mom then holds me and kisses me and put me on call with dad. Sometimes she sings songs that dad used to sing for me to sleep. I miss dad a lot though I don't say that often as I don't want mom to worry. Dad comes in once every three weeks and plays with me.

When dad was here we went shopping, visited the zoo and took the train trip and many more. Mom tells me so many stories from here when we are in balcony. The best thing about being Hyderabadi is the number of pigeons here. I love chasing them all the while.

Now that Swamy tata is getting well, we will go back to Bangalore soon. Mom and dad were in Hyderabad for several years and this trip was very helpful for mom too. Which place would you like to go and see?

Pamper me soft!

Soft. Pleasant. Calm. Bright. Cool. Safe, Peaceful. Natural. Organic, Rich, Non-pollutant. Fresh. Like a mother's love. Like grandmother's touch. Wrinkled yet smooth. Tired and withered yet welcoming.

Like the brush of fresh breeze on a calm warm morning that plays with my curls while I sleep on the softest of pillows and smile as my colorful dreams that let me fly away to distant lands while I lie asleep. The gentle kisses on my forehead that dad unmistakably plants while he calmly leaves for work.

Like the little coochy-cooings that mom whispers as she soft talks to me while I nuzzle at her heart. Like those kind blessings that come to me from the morning sun as the sun rays escaping from my window sill play with my eye lids and the windy curtains. Like that softness all around me. Like all that love, peace and freedom I have. Like the Pampers I cherish and wear. These are some of the things changed in our home when I arrived. If you are getting ready to welcome a little child in your home here are some things mom and dad did for me.

Check them out and they might be useful when you plan to pamper your child.

1.    Change your furnishing. Your blankets, pillow covers, sofa covers, mattresses, everything that might come in touch with your child. Easier to wash, clean and softer to touch and use. Shift today.
2.    Shift to organic detergents: It really hurts to get a rash on your child. We have very sensitive skin, even more sensitive noses which respond to dust or chemicals and can catch a cold and it hurts you parents more than us. Anyways chemical bases solutions are dreadful for you even if you do not feel them. So skip the chemicals. Go Green.
3.    Skip perfumes, aerosols: If you use perfumes, sprays at home, well… skip them. They usually carry irritants, smells that we don’t like and can get cold or an allergy. Use natural ones only if it is extremely important. Do not use them around us. We love your natural fragrance anyways. Sometimes we don’t like flowers too! Dad stopped getting mom roses after I came L And mom understands.
4.    Change soaps, shampoos… Switch to organic ones that don’t hurt us. When you rest around us or hold us on your shoulder we breathe in a lot of them. Can you make them smell natural so we don’t catch anything?
5.    Child-proof your home: Check for that chair edges, table corners, door jammers, glass shelves, cup boards, cups, pens, nails, switches, plug points, tv and anything that can break, hurt us or anything that is remotely dangerous. Trust me we will reach there, touch that, get hurt. So do not leave any chance for us to explore.

So get ready to welcome your little bundle of joy and make your home the safest fortress with the softest of things around you and choose the best premium care for your child.

Pampers brings you the softest ever Pampers Premium Care Pants. Its cotton-like softness is #SoftestForBabySkin and allows it to breathe, thus keeping baby’s skin soft and healthy, and your baby happy. This post is a part of the Pampers #SoftestForBabySkin activity at BlogAdda.

He Drove All Night

I was running high fever. 103 F to be exact. I was not sick because of viral. I was sick because my heart longed to meet someone. Mom knew what was happening. She called him and put him on speaker and told me to speak to him.

I couldn't speak to him on the phone. I wanted to tell him all that is in my heart. How much I longed to see him, meet him, touch his face and hug him but the words weren't easy. I was full of tears and my voice choked. I was too overwhelmed by emotion that just little wails escaped. Mom took the phone away hugged me and tried to console me. I was missing him big time and didn't stay this long away from him. I cried myself to sleep and was dreaming that he was with me. Holding me. Consoling me and kissing me and telling me not to worry.

He couldn't stay back. It was already late in the night and he just walked out of wherever he was and took the first thing he could. He wanted to drive but mom requested him not to. After traveling for 10 hours swapping buses, autos, taxis, walked and reached me. I was still in sleep when he came up, took bath and quickly changed to snuggle against me. I still had fever.

He held me close and whispered how much he loved me and apologized for not being there. Next to me. He was there when I woke up. He was caressing me curls and gently kissing my forehead. He might not have driven all night but he was there next to me and hugging me. I woke up sweating and my fever had come down. Whole morning he was with me listening to everything I told and did all that I wanted to do. I don't remember when the fever left me. I was up and running all over. My happiness and smile returned. I may be doing whatever I want all day and night. But when I sleep or am down or am sick, I miss him dearly. I may be my mom's girl but I am my dad's princess. My dad took this trip. He might not have driven all night but made it home to me. Just to wipe out my tears and make me smile.

Why Dabur Baby Massage oil is good for your child!

Let me tell you right at the outset. My mom and dad are slightly paranoid in terms of what they use for me. Not just use, but it also applies to what I wear, what I eat, drink, touch and the list goes on. My Googling mom makes sure she has the full information about a product, right from where it comes from, the brand, the ingredients, the tests done before it hit the market and if it is good for me to the social responsibility the company promotes and much more.

Natural ingredients ensure nothing is tampered with the natural tenor and characteristics of any product. Using artificial oils might give you good results in the short time but do not do any good to your child’s skin or health. In fact they damage the basic structure and can cause serious problems when you use them for longer times. Don’t go by the empty promises and tall claims. Look for the ingredients, check the background, check for side effects and most importantly skip them. Why would you opt for artificial solutions, more importantly chemical ones when you have lot of natural solutions and age old Ayurvedic options available?

In this context you can go ahead and read the review of Dabur :) Yes, I had posted a review of the Dabur Lal Tail before and I am here today to tell you why their new product Dabur Baby Massage oil is very good for kids like me and younger than me. Made from completely natural ingredients with special focus on Olive and Almond, the new baby oil is a superb package.

Concentrating on the main area of providing nourishment and safe solution to help in muscle toning and retaining the soft skin, Dabur has come out with the new massage oil full of natural ingredients. You have to note that there are no harmful artificial colours or paraffins in the oil. Dabur also ensures that the oil is dermatologically tested and is proven to help in strengthening bones and muscles.

While the olives in the oil nourishes my skin and keeps it soft and help it grow, the almonds help in keeping it soft and supple. Made from the finest olives and almonds without adding anything unnatural, the Dabur Baby Massage oil offers a unique blend through a premium product that suits well to your child’s requirement. You can massage away and add your magical touch to ensure your baby loves you and the softness and suppleness in her skin stays the same for much longer.

Comparison syndrome

Found this interesting post on dad's phone. Thought you could share it with your parents.

Overtake→

A boy with his parents was travelling in their car. Father was driving and son was sitting in the back. Dad was driving this car very carefully because it was quite dear to him.

After a few minutes later, a modern car overtook their car.
Son told Father, "Dad this car went ahead of us, please use accelerator to overtake that car".
Dad replied smilling, "Son, it is not possible, our car is not capable of going that fast".

Within a few seconds, another car went ahead of them. Son got annoyed by it and told dad to press accelerator.

Dad replied to son in anger, "You are only seeing cars which are going ahead of us. There are many cars behind us. If we try to catch up with those cars in front of us, we may end up doing damage to our car".

Son replied nicely, "Dad, you compare me with other smart kids and keep telling me to be like them. If I try to be like them, I might end up hurting myself right! You are only seeing smarter kids than me, but you are not seeing kids who are behind me."

All parents must read.

Happy Father's Day!

What can I say? The first thing I remember about coming into this world is seeing my anxious dad waiting to have a glimpse at me. The moment he saw me he closed his eyes and thanked God for giving me and then as the doctors were doing their bit in cleaning me up and dressing me he was hovering all around just to ensure I was safe. This is beautiful isn't it? All parents are like this but my dad is special. I love my dad and he has been my best friend and my first love all the time.

Every bit of the day he tries to be with me. Is partial towards me and is even too relaxed with me in terms of rules. He took good care of me when I was too small and helped mom to make me burp, give a bath, dress me up, and put me to sleep every day and so on. You see mom was recovering from the maternity issues and then dad was pitching in some extra effort to keep both of us happy. The best part and why I remember this so fondly is because of how much care he took of me when I fell sick or caught a cold. He always used to give me steam, apply Vicks to my shirt and help me stay upright by hugging me and sleeping all through the night. Breathing Vicks vapours help me relax and clear my little nose and breathe well.  At home we have more than 10 bottles in all the possible places and sizes always available to apply at our beck and call.

Even when he has 12 hour work days and when he was really tired he used to hug me and hold me warm and prance around the hall and living rooms all night to help me rock myself to sleep and keep me from waking up due to cold. I cherish it. Our moments. When I could be in his arms. Safe, sound, warm and healthy. Simple things of love, care and the strength and promise to be there when I was down. Though it may look like he is taking care of me, it is me who is taking care of him everyday! To hold me, guide me and help me recover and win. To help me fight cold, tiredness and fever. Though I am too small to talk and express what I feel and what I want to tell him, there is one language he understand very well and that is my hug. Every day I hug him tightly and tell him that I love him and appreciate whatever he has done for me and keeps doing. Thank you dad for being there for me when I am down. Thank you for everything. I love you.

J for Juice

What is your favorite food? I like juices. Especially the freshly made ones. I love Chickoo, Orange and watermelon. I really enjoy the watermelon and the milkshakes. Essentially it is summer and mom makes sure I am hydrated and drink enough fluids. Being energetic to play all day, you need to have lots of fluids. I have recently acquired a taste for cornflakes and milk. What do you like most in juices?

I for Icecream

Like all children, I love Ice cream too. My favorite is the chickoo one from Naturals and Ibaco. Though I don't eat it off when it is cold, I mean ice cold, I eat it when it cools down. I love playing with the spoon and eating on my own. As my dress gets dirty mom allows me to eat it to my heart's content and then lets me play. Once I am done and tired, I get to bath and change to a fresh dress.

The mess I make is what makes me more interested in the ice cream than the taste of the ice cream it self. When I am let to play on my own, I learn how fluids work, stickies work and flexibility. Let your children play. Mess is easy to clean. Happiness is not so easy to get.

Healthy Detox

I am the best healthy detox available for dad says. He comes home tired from his days work and I run to him to hold me and tell him how my day was. He lives to talk to me listen to me and is very responsive. He says all his tiredness goes away when he looks at me and sees me smile.

Mom works all day too. Tending to me isn't an easy job. It requires her to be alert all the time, be active and improvise based on what I throw at her. She tells me she gets rejuvenated when she gets a thank you hug from me. I love both of them and they lover too.

What's your detox? Parenting is not necessarily easy but with a little help from us mom and dad can pull it though. What do you think?

One little finger

One little finger is my new favorite rhyme. I love the kid who stars in the rhyme and imitate him. Singing this to me brings in so many giggles and squeals of laughter and you will love it. Want to try this for your kids? Here is the video.

G for Glasses'

I love glasses. Pulling them from grand mom, grandpa and playing with them is my favorite past time. I have seen how they wear and they look different when they aren't wearing them. I try to put them on me and post but as they wear glasses for power, I cannot see anything in them. However the pulling and the fuss that comes about later is fun.

Pulling dad's glasses is an entirely different task I have mastered. Once when I was young, I mean very young, I pulled his glass and scratched them on the floor and he was cool with it. He didn't scold me or anything. When you let your children learn and see they might learn more. It is essential to develop a discipline but don't stop exploration. Exploration helps develop curiosity, knowledge and help improve personality and encourages open thinking. What about you? Do you like your children to learn and explore or allow them to touch and play only in designated places, things?

I like seeing through colorful sheets and glasses. The world looks a different place then. I would like to see a world without pain, without anger, revenge and with a lot of love, sharing and caring. What would you like to see? What is your glass?

F for fireworks

Guess what happened when we went up to terrace last night?! Fireworks. Someone in the neighbourhood was celebrating something and thy decided to send out some nice fireworks to the night sky. The dark clouds that shrouded the evening sky in Bangalore only helped them glow in full bloom. This picture doesn't do any justice to the times of purple, red, yellow and orange that I saw and what a delight it was. I was amazed at the colourful display that unfolded unexpectedly in front of my eyes.

Dad tells me that some of the fireworks are dangerous and need to be handled by parental supervision only. I agree. Do you like fireworks? Which one is your favourite? Dad promised me we will buy some next time they are available and celebrate. I think he means when I grow up?! Dad bhi na!

E for Ellyvan

Did I tell you about my friend Ellyvan? She is a character from Disney's Jungle Junction. She likes to be the big supportive character from the jungle. Her best friend Zooter and Ellyvan have many adventures in the jungle. They spin their wheels and keep running around the jungle having fun and completing tasks.

The programme teaches kids like me to be there for a friend when needed and play and have fun when learning. The storyline is simple to follow and the colours are very pleasant. Mum found it when browsing hammers and has been my favourite for quite sometime and then I stopped watching it when they went offline. When it came back on TV I liked it again. True friends never leave.

D is for Duck Dance

I learnt this amazing dance from dad. Actually Dad and I invented it. It is quite similar to the chicken dance but is called the duck dance. We walk around like a duck and flap our hands like a duck. I love this little routine that we invented during our night sojourns. Dad stays up with me as long as I am playing and then puts me to sleep. The duck dance is usually used to pull my attention away from things which are dangerous - like a plug, sharp objects or things like that.

I love it because it is quite funny dad does it with me. I run to him and hold him squealing. What is your favorite routine? What do you like most playing with? Tell me!

C is for catch

We Caught the rain today! Quite literally. Dad and me set out to go for our loan pending walk in the neighbourhood and it was quite warm. In fact so warm that I was wearing jeans. As we proceeded on our dialysis ritual to inspect our spots in the street and reach our milk vendor's shop, plop it came down. A big rain drop.

I love rains and love playing with mom in them and get wet. Unlike many parents mine let me get wet :) So plop it came down and dad looked slightly worried as we were quite far from home and were planning to go to a mall for some window shopping and juice for me. Still we went ahead and were waiting for auto when it started to blow really strong and power went off. The leaves from all the trees started playing with the wind and little tiny drops of rain started splattering on me and all around. This was a new experience and I started playing. So we cancelled the trip and started playing in the drops. We also started walking back home and traced our steps back just in time when it started to pour. I went to the balcony and still played for a long time. Did you catch the rain today? Simple things help you learn and appreciate what we usually take for granted :)

Boo Peek-a

I like playing Pee-a-Boo games with mom. My Boo is the happiest you have ever seen. While many kids like playing this game, do you know the logic (one of the logic's) behind this game?

It handles separation anxiety. It assures the kid that mom is not going away completely and you need not worry when she is missing. It assures that people who go away from you momentarily come back to take care of you. Developed over thousands of years, the game also lets mum get some work done.

Isn't it wonderful to see games that developed over years of observation and thinking? What games do you like? Do you like knowing things like me?
