Babycino @ Gloria Jeans

Mumma wanted to go to HSR layout and we headed on this hot and humid Friday evening towards the colony. The streets were sans traffic and it was a smooth drive and we reached Gloria Jeans cafe. Now this was a crowded place and we had to wait for sometime to find some seats inside. Mom had to go out for a call and dad and me tried to make the best of the poorly air-conditioned place.

Though dad didn't like the place as it had many mosquitoes and complete lack of music, we loved the Babycino which was served free of charge for kids under the age of five and had these yummy ingredients - Chocolate and pure milk heated to a mild temperature. I loved the texture and taste but had only a few sips and tried to grab dad's cold coffee and gave some really cute smiles to the young ladies at the neighbouring table who started to wave and smile at me.

But for the mosquitoes, hot and noisy interiors, Gloria would be a better place. So here is to my first coffee!

Nibbly nibbler

Dad says it is a joy to wake up to biscuit powder all around the bed and having half eaten biscuits all around the house. Wherever you go you might find a half nibbled, evenly shaped biscuits in our home. Here is a pic for you.

Dad says it is so cute and nice but I give mom a lot of work in cleaning up which she is just happy to do. I need a clean home, don't I? After all I am all walking, moving, shaking, dancing, exploring and throwing things when I am not playing, reading, writing and having fun. All part of a day's work.

Okay. Now I have to go in to stealth mode and attack dad and wake him up before the alarm. Yeeeeeee... Dishkyion...

What happens when you swallow a flower?

Nothing!

Mom has several of the dried up flowers that dad gave her and I found out where that was :)

Wait for it. Don't just jump ahead of the story. Let me narrate. So I found the roses, lillies and other flower bouquets and I was playing with them. Dad found me and ran to pick me up but I managed to take a little lilly in to my mouth. Dad had to remove the flower from my mouth. I bit him properly and still he was relieved that I didnt swallow it. It was fun to see dad panic and then get relieved when he saw I didn't swallow it yet.

Does your kids swallow stuff? What do you do?

Spin offs

Whenever mom makes me a soup or kichdi/mashed delicacies, she tries to remove the hard content to make a separate dish for me and dad. We love those snacks that come as a spin off from them. They taste yum!

The little biscuiteer

I am growing up well. The best part is that I have my mom guarding me all the time. She is an expert researcher when it comes deciding on what is good and what is not. Now that I am almost a year old, she is allowing me to nibble more finger foods. Because I somehow don't like sweet dishes (Yep, I love spices), she is trying to acclimatize me to them :)

I have four teeth now and I am a great nibbler. I can trim off biscuits, spoons, plates and whatever I manage to find in my way. Mom couldn't stop laughing when she saw me nibbling at the biscuit and dad knighted me The Little Biscuiteer!

Do you kids love biscuits? What do they like to nibble?

World's best fish curry

Nanamma and tatayya(Granny and granpa) have come to see me after a long time. Did I tell you that I am named after her? She is an amazing cook and she used to send amazing food snacks to mom for me. I was in tummy so all mom eat I yanjayaeeed!

Nanamma makes the world's best fish curry. Hands down. She loves to make it spicy like dad likes it but now tones it down to match my palate. I loved the fish and relished it. We played a lot of games and had loads of fun. I will tell you more details soon.

What is your favorite food item?

Juice time

Look what I had . Musk melon juice. Musk melon is Mom's most favorite fruit.

Mom sang a beautiful song. Whenever she feeds me she sings as if she is that veggie or that fruit.

She sang that Muskmelon is also called Cantaloupe. It is rich in vitamin A and C. It contains no fat or cholesterol.

I liked it so much that I asked for one more glass of juice. Don't trust? look below.

Tasting the orange colored juice for the first time. Mom is curious to see my expression and to see if I liked it. Her fingers crossed.

Just finished. Wow!How relishing!

Mommy, one more glass of juice please.

Experimenting with spices

Do you give spices to your kids? Dad does! Now that is a secret(we have to keep from mom).

I loved the hot and clear chicken soup which I tried when I was four months! I am super happy with fish, chicken, mutton , spicy vegetables fries and curries. Of course they are toned down for me but I love nibbling small bits before searching for water.

I am brave(dad say's so) and I don't cry at all and make a fuss when I taste something different. I love experimenting with spices. I am yet to grow up and have the McSpicy and other snacks at MCD or KFC but till then I will try and taste what Dad gives me when mom isn't watching.

I guess I will be easy to cook for :)

Annaprasana

Hurray! I am six months old now. The long awaited moment of tasting food finally has arrived. Today was my Annaprasana. Dad bought silver bowl, spoon and tumbler. Dad wanted to make chicken for me but I shouldn't eat it seems. Ammamma made rice pudding for me. Tasted yummy :).

Nanamma prayed for me on phone and thanked God for blessing me.

I wore a new dress and was looking very cute. Dad and mom took me for a photo shoot at the near by park. Joggers were looking at me with admiration. Few aunties came and hugged me and kissed me. I was generous in giving smiles and hugs to all ladies because they looked like my ammamma and naannamma whom I love the most.

Mom entered kitchen after a long time today. She cooked something special for dad. Here it is. A bit more milk to make it sugarless for ammamma too. I loved it :)

I am aching to go to kitchen and make some nice snacks for dad. I will be a great cook. Wont I?

Bondas

Look what ammamma made for dad few days back. Dad likes snacks and this makes it just better especially because it was raining and rain came to Bangalore at last.

I am yet to grow up to eat all these but I am waiting patiently now. Once I am ready, mom would make lots and lots of snackies for me :)

Wont you mom?

Mom's fav dish: Kheema

Now that I am the center of all attention for my mom, she has to do a lot of things to protect anything from hitting me. She had to forgo her favorite food items like pizza, KFC food, MCDs and many more while I was in her tummy. Now that I am out, she has to eat so many more things that do not easily adjust with her palate :) I will tell you more about them later but here is a pleasant choice!

Mom loves Kheema and all of us love it too. Apparently it is a good diet rich in elements that help a lactating mother. So kheema has become our staple diet at home and guess what no one is complaining about it :)

Here is a recipe of kheema pav from Vidya aunty's blog.
